A strong earthquake struck south of Puerto Rico early Jan. 7 followed by major aftershocks. It was the latest in a series of tremors that have shaken the island since Dec. 28. President Trump approved an emergency declaration on Tuesday, which allows the U.S. government to provide immediate assistance.
