Religious leaders protest on Sept. 29 during the Remember Ruth & Breonna: Rise Up & Vote prayer event on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. The march was led by Dr. William Barber and Dr. Liz Theoharis, co-chairs of the Poor People’s Campaign. The silent march started at the U.S. Supreme Court to honor the lives of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Kentucky emergency medical technician Breonna Taylor. The purpose also was stated to “remind us all of the importance and of the urgency of voting.’’
