Miami Open has last run in Key Biscayne

The Miami Open is well under way at Key Biscayne. It’s the second week and the final year that it will be held on the Key before moving to Hard Rock Stadium in 2019.

This year’s tournament attracted a lot of diverse athletes, including Naomi Osaka of Haitian-American-Japanese descent; Michael Mmoh, native of Saudi Arabia who has Irish and Nigerian ancestry.

Along with sisters Serena and Venus Williams, American competitors include Donald Young, Sloane Stephens, and Sachia Vickery, Taylor Townsend.

Other players of color include Nick Kyrgios of Australia and Darian King of Barbados.
