“All Eyez on Me’’ tells the story of the life and legacy of Tupac Shakur, including his rise to superstardom as a hip-hop artist, actor, poet and activist. It also chronicles his imprisonment and controversial time at Death Row Records.
Shakur rose to become a cultural icon whose career and persona both continue to grow long after his passing.
“All Eyez On Me’’ is directed by Benny Boom and produced by LT Hutton (Morgan Creek Productions). The biopic stars Demetrius Shipp Jr. (as Shakur), Danai Gurira, Kat Graham, Dominic L. Santana and Jamal Woolard.
The film is being released in theaters nationwide on June 16 in commemoration of the late rapper/actor’s birthday.
Shakur was born on June 16, 1971 in New York and died on Sept. 13, 1996 as a result of a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas on Sept. 7. He was 25 years old when he died.
