More than 2 million ballots have been sent to voters for the Aug. 30 primaries, according to the state Division of Elections website.
Most of the ballots have gone to overseas and military voters, with the first big wave of “vote-by-mail” ballots were sent out Tuesday from county supervisors of elections offices to in-state voters.
As of the morning of July 22, 926,411 ballots had been sent to Republicans and 777,738 had gone to Democrats. Another 310,566 were sent to people without party affiliation, while 47,836 have gone to members of minor parties.
The counties with the highest number of ballots already out are Pinellas with 247,653; Miami-Dade, 218,428; Hillsborough, 154,228; Broward, 146,495; Lee, 139,472; and Orange, 123,788.
