Editor’s note: After suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon last night in a game touting the Los Angeles Lakers against the Golden State Warriors, Lakers star Kobe Bryant is projected to be out for six to nine months.
It’s not all over for Kobe.
He’s the Black Mamba.
Anyone who follows his career knows that Kobe is a workaholic and will put in that work to come back and walk back on that court on his own.
Yeah, the guy has a torn Achilles tendon and that’s a bad injury, but look, he was never a guy to give up, never a guy to take time off, always had a high spirit and was determined. Those who think he’s not coming back are crazy. He’s played with a bad ankle, broken fingers, injuries that put some players out for extended periods of time. But he’s going to have that surgery, with the best doctor; the best physical therapist and he’ll be back on the court.
Even Lebron says, “If anybody can come back, it’s the Mamba.”
And those saying he’s too old, age is just a number. You have guys in the NBA that are 39 and 40. Grant Hill had surgery to his ankle and is still in the NBA at 39, Kobe’s 34.
Wait and see, the Mamba will be back.
