Houston, TX (BlackNews.com) — The #HTownSponsor himself, Young Marqus (YM) is taking his personal brand of Hip Hop to the next level this week by jumping on the road with Interscope Records artists, Mindless Behavior on their #1 Girl Tour. The opportunity comes as no surprise for the young rapper who last year, saw himself opening up for Lupe Fiasco on the “Generation LASERS” Tour. With more amazing fetes in the works for this 12 years old artist, YM is easily proving to everyone that he’s definitely poised to be the next face of Hip Hop.
YM’s spot on the #1 Girl Tour ticket kicks off this Thursday, July 26th at the Fox Theater in Detroit, MI. He will then go on to perform at 12 other cities, finally ending his run in Oakland, CA at the Paramount Theatre. His set promises to be a fun and entertaining one with performances of his three hit songs “Houston” which has already hit the million views marker on Youtube, “Who is He” and his new club track “Merk Out” featuring Teyana Taylor (Interscope Records) and more. YM will also perform his highly anticipated track “She Bad” which will drop on the radio later this year.
Having already struck a positive chord with fans after opening for Lupe Fiasco last fall, YM is excited to shift gears a bit and perform for an audience in his age range.
“I’m getting to experience the best of both worlds. Last year I was performing for mostly adults when I was with Lupe Fiasco, and now this year I get a chance to connect with people in my age group. It’ll definitely be a different experience, but I’m excited to get the chance to further connect with an audience that looks just like me.” Young Marqus states.
The music video for “Merk Out” featuring Teyana Taylor makes its world premiere debut on August 1st at Midnight. “Merk Out,” was produced by Grammy nominated super producer Kevin “Khao” Cates, the genius behind T.I.’s “Watch What You Say” and “Why You Wanna.” The club banger is already getting a substantial amount of radio spins in the south, with YM being a native of Houston, Texas. At the rate it’s going, it’s sure to take the world by storm as it continues to breeze across the national and international circuits.
Be on the lookout for YM’s mixtape “H-Town Sponsor” which will be released August 15th. It’s the follow-up to last years smash “Respect Me,” featuring Trevor Jackson (Disney’s “Let it Shine”) YM’s debut album will hit stores later this year.
